1. Posology and method of administration
Skinoren Posology/administration frequency and duration:
SKINOREN is applied to the diseased areas of the skin 2 times a day (morning and evening). (Approximately 2.5 cm of cream is sufficient for the entire face area). It is important to apply SKINOREN continuously and regularly during the prescribed treatment. The duration of use of SKINOREN may vary from person to person and depends on the severity of the skin problem. In general, significant improvement occurs after approximately 4 weeks of treatment.
For best results, SKINOREN should be used for several months. Its use for longer than 12 months is not recommended. In melasma, the shortest treatment period should be approximately 3 months; to get the best results
The use of SKINOREN should be continued regularly. Adding a broad-spectrum sunscreen (UVA and UVB) to the treatment during the entire treatment period should prevent sun-related flare-ups and/or
It is mandatory to prevent re-pigmentation of the discolored areas. In cases of intolerable skin irritation (see Section 4.8 Undesirable effects), the amount of cream used in each application should be reduced or SKINOREN should be applied until the irritation subsides.
The frequency should be reduced to once a day. If necessary, the treatment can be temporarily interrupted for a few days. Method of application: Before applying SKINOREN, the skin should be thoroughly cleaned with water and dried. A mild skin cleanser can be used. SKINOREN is applied to the diseased areas of the skin by gently rubbing. Hands should be washed after each application.
