1. What is VENEGIS XR and what is it used for?
It is presented in the form of 28 capsules venegis in a cardboard box.
Hard gelatin capsule, cap color red, transparent body colorless. Capsules of different doses (75mg, 150mg) come in different sizes. There are no markings on the capsule. The VENEGIS XR extended release formulation contains venlafaxine hydrochloride as the active ingredient, which belongs to a group of drugs known as selective noradrenergic-serotonergic reuptake inhibitors. This group of drugs is one of the new types of drugs used in the treatment of depression.
VENEGIS XR is used in the treatment of mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety associated with depression, generalized anxiety (anxiety) disorder, social phobia and panic disorder.
2. How to use VENEGIS XR?
Instructions for proper use and dose/frequency of administration
Always follow your doctor’s advice on the use of the drug. Unless your doctor makes a separate recommendation, follow the instructions below:
The starting dose is 75 mg per day in the treatment of all types of depression, in the prevention of relapses of depression, in the treatment of anxiety accompanying depression, in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder and social phobia. Depression symptoms usually begin to improve within 2-4 weeks. If the symptoms have not improved enough, your doctor may increase the dose. The maximum dose is 375mg daily. If your symptoms still do not improve 2-4 weeks after taking the maximum daily dose, then your doctor will prescribe you another medicine.
The recommended dose for the treatment of panic disorder is 75mg once a day. In the treatment of panic disorder, venlafaxine 37.5mg should be started once a day for the first 4-7 days and continued with 75mg VENEGIS XR once a day. The dose may be increased up to 225 mg once daily if necessary for the treatment of panic disorder.
The dose required for follow-up therapy is 75mg once daily as in initial therapy. In order to evaluate the long-term benefit of VENEGIS XR treatment, you should apply for control in periods that your doctor deems appropriate.
You should stop VENEGIS XR treatment by gradually reducing the dose and within about two weeks. Consult your doctor for detailed information, as the time required to gradually reduce the dose depends on the dose, duration of treatment and the patient.
Application route and method
VENEGIS XR should be swallowed with some liquid once a day at approximately the same time every day. It should be taken with meals.

As with other treatments, caution should be exercised when using VENEGIS XR in elderly patients.
Special use cases
Your doctor will determine the dose of your medicine depending on your disease and will apply it to you.
If you have an impression that the effect of VENEGIS XR is too strong or weak, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
If you use more VENEGIS XR than you should
If you have used more than you should use from VENEGIS XR, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.
If you have used more than you should, the following symptoms may occur: changes in consciousness ranging from sleepiness to coma, increased heart rate, drowsiness, seizures, changes in heart electrodes, dilated pupils, nausea, vomiting, feeling light-headed, dizziness.
When you take more VENEGIS XR than necessary, you should contact your doctor immediately or apply to the nearest hospital. In case of overdose, your doctor should provide adequate airway and oxygenation. General supportive care, symptomatic therapy, and cardiac monitoring should be applied.
If you forget to use VENEGIS XR
Your doctor will decide when to administer the missed dose.
It is important to follow your doctor’s instructions for the new administration time of the next dose.
Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten doses.
3. What are the possible side effects?
Like all medicines, there may be side effects in people who are sensitive to the substances contained in VENEGIS XR.
If any of the following occur, stop using VENEGIS XR and IMMEDIATELY inform your doctor or go to the nearest hospital emergency department:
• Severe allergic reactions affecting the whole body (angioedema): Skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, swelling of the lips or shortness of breath,
• Fast or irregular heartbeat, flushing and hot flushes in the body, fatigue, feeling faint,
These are all very serious side effects.
If you have one of these, it means you have a serious allergy to VENEGIS XR. You may need emergency medical attention or hospitalization.
• Severe clouding of consciousness (delirium), movement disorders and restlessness,
• Unusual bleeding, such as nose bleeding,
• High body temperature, excessive stiffness of the muscles, confusion, restlessness, uncontrollable jumping muscle movements,
• Seizure,
• Mental and physical hyperactivity (manic reactions),
